Nikolas Cruz 'school shooter' comment reported to FBI months ago, vlogger says On February 14th, 2018, a school shooter open fired on a local high school in Florida. Nikolas Cruz, a former student who had been expelled from the Parkland high school, brought a gun into the school and killed 17 students, staff, and other personnel in the building, along with injuring others. This event has left many in chaos and panic as they are scared that this could happen at their school, or somewhere near them. However, many seem to think that this could have been prevented. According to FBI, they had received a tip months before the shooting on social media by Nikolas Cruz who claimed to be a "professional school shooter". No other information was given in the comment, which therefore led to very few people taking it seriously. There was no time, location, nothing. Ben Bennight had received this comment on one of his YouTube videos and reported it to the FBI who tried to look into it more. Little did he know was that this guy was not kidding, and would actually shoot up a school. We should hope that the FBI had actually looked into this comment and had some sort of eye on Cruz to begin with. Cruz was charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder and was booked into Broward County Jail. He had walked into the school with a gas mask, smoke grenades, and multiple magazines of ammunition before firing an AR-15 at students and faculty members. However, details about his past have been confirmed, showing that he had been expelled from the school after getting into a fight with the boyfriend of his ex-girlfriend. Many think that if someone had spoke up about what they knew about Cruz and how he acted, that this whole thing could have been prevented. Authorities are looking more into the case, and finding ways to keep schools safe in case of a shooting in the future.
